Our Mission
The Family YMCA at Tarrytown is a nonprofit organization committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We serve children and adults throughout our community, regardless of their ability to pay. Each month, the Y supports many families who would otherwise be unable to afford essential programs and services.
We offer a wide range of programs, including early childhood education, before- and after-school care, summer and vacation camps, universal pre-kindergarten, virtual fitness classes, and enrichment activities. Our Y Cheer teams compete nationally and are once again advancing to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
Our Early Childcare Center serves families in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, and surrounding communities, providing high-quality care in a convenient location near the Tarrytown Train Station. The center offers care in a warm, welcoming setting with ample parking and easy walkability to both villages, making it accessible for working families. Our school-age and enrichment programs take place on-site in local elementary schools, allowing before- and after-school care to occur in a familiar setting and making daily transitions seamless. For the past two years, the Y has partnered with the Hendrick Hudson School District in Montrose, NY, to provide universal pre-kindergarten and wraparound care for children in the district. Looking ahead, the Y is working to open an additional Y Early Learning Center within the district.
Each year, the Y co-hosts Healthy Kids Day in Patriots Park with our community partner, the Rotary Rubber Duck Derby. This family-friendly event attracts attendees from across the region for a fun-filled day featuring local vendors, Y rides, games, face painting, food vendors, and more. Now in its 19th year, this beloved community friend-raiser is just one more way the Family YMCA at Tarrytown continues to strengthen and support our community.
